Earlier this week I found out that a fellow coworker used to work at the same place as an ex. He happened to mention he worked at such-and-such a place, and I said, "Oh, which location?" He told me, and I said, "Wow, what a small world..." The Greater Toronto Area isn't exactly a small town.

I mean, really, what are the chances that you meet someone and they turn out to be an aquaintance of someone else?

Sure. Most people "know" tons of people. (tons of people)^6 is a whole heck of a lot of people.

Edit: Did you vote no?

On a flight back home to England, my friend and I were discussing another friend. The girl, a stranger, who also sat with us, was obviously listening to our coversation when she inquired if the person we were discussing was the same Tim she knew from childhood. It was.

Once we arrived in England, I ran into a girl from my highschool at the Oxford rail station.

Two weeks later, I bumped into the same girl we sat next to on the way over. In London. A city with a population of more than seven million.

Small world.

edit: although I'm curious why you believe an asterisk is the same thing as a degree symbol.

º = alt + 167

I've seen it done before with an asterisk in place of a degree symbol...and didn't care enough to look it up on the character map. Thanks for posting the shortcut, though, I shall try and remember it 🙂
