Today is a sad day.

Today I recieved the news that my great grandfather passed away. My great grandfather has been like a mentor to me. When I was a kid I always spent the summers at them and he taught me about fishing, nature life amongs other things.

He got cancer a couple of months back and eventually it got worse. It went so fast from him beeng a healthy guy to beeing sick and die a couple of months later..

He will forever be missed by me and my whole family and I'll make sure I'll live my life to the fullest and try to make him proud of me.

That is all

Wow great grand father. I'm sure he lived a very healthy life too see 3 generations below him.
life moves on no matter what.
so be strong buddy !

I'm sure he is in a better place than me right now. The thing is I'm living in Ireland and I never got the chance getting back to sweden to see him right before he passed away. Its such a shame to see one playing football with me in his eighties to just fall apart and a few years later pass away. He taught me much. Among all the other things he taught me he also introduced me to the world of music which literally have saved my life on several occasions. He gave me money to buy my first guitar and he was always there for me when I had financial problems, and now my great grandmother is all alone and I'm thousands of miles away not beeing able to support my family.

I thank you all for your condolences, even you who put some humor in it.

i don't think being jealous is something he's feeling.

RIP to your great grampa. i was close to my great gram just the same before she passed. i will always remember some of the words of wisdom she passed on to me.

Thanks. HE had quite an influence on me yeah. I'm gonna have a talk with my team leader on monday. She gotta give me a vacation so I atleast can get to the funeral. That will be some kind of closure I hope. I still feel bummed out that I wasnt there when it happened. Thank god my fiancee is here with me. Without her I would go crazy. Things have really gone downhill for the past weeks. Not a single good thing has happened the last weeks..except for that I still have a job, a place to live and can bring food to the table.

I've always been a firm believer in the saying "You never know what you got until its gone" but I never thought loosing one close to would have such a devastating impact on your life. For me he was supposed to always be there. I actually thought I would outlive him. I guess I never really gave that a thought...

Sorry to hear about your great grandfather. I personally never got to know mine, and you should be happy you got the chance🙂 I'm sure he's in a better place now

RIP
