it looked so promising a few years ago, but it obviously wan never meant to be.

dataplay comprises a disk that can store 500mb and is the size of a £2 coin (similar to a CF card).
the great thing about it is the optical engine to read/write the disks is only slightly bigger than the disk itself.
this means you could have a player the size of a pack of medium matchbox.

but it looks like HD jukeboxes are the way forward.

Besides, they shot themselves in the foot by announcing it several years ago, then constantly delaying its release.
