It's 96 degrees outside. Too hot for a bike ride?

The forecast for today says the high will be 103. I've been doing 20-mile rides everyday for exercise, and I'm wondering if maybe I should skip today. 100 degrees is pretty damn hot, but I've been riding in low-90s temps without a problem. Yesterday was around 95 though, and I was definitely feeling it.

Would you go?

Bring enough water and youll be fine (1 gallon), I got soccer tomorrow and the high is suppose to be in the 90s with high humidity, so I know what your goin through. Take a break half way through though, just to cool down a bit.

Good for you. When I am training, as soon as I let a little thing slip, or make an excuse, my entire routine can get thrown off. I try to stick to my plan as close as possible.

Yeah I would.

Sunscreen, good helmet or hat, your preference. Bring hydration like gatorade and or water and don't forget food.

Wish my bike was working, I went jogging today but my legs can only take so much of the pounding.

20.5 miles in one hour, 17 minutes. That's about 16mph, which isn't bad considering that includes time I spent stopped at lgihts and such.

Glad you went. Not so bad in the end, was it? BTW, for really hot days, get a Polar bottle, put ice water in there and squirt some over your head once in a while. :)

I have several Polar bottles and just fill them and freeze them. In the heat you need to take twice the amount of water you ordinarily would.

Not bad. It was only 80°F today here in the Mid-Atlantic area, but I've got a bad cold that's only letting me breathe out of one nostril, so my big ride will have to wait until tomorrow. That reminds me, I'll need to post some pics of my new ride. ;)

Some people really hate heat and react poorly (i.e. me).

I did a volunteer project with Habitat for Humanity and we did construction work out in the valley where it's over 100. I worked indoors nailing stuff and I was drenched in a pool of sweat. Other people were in jeans and were still working. I was in shorts and I couldn't handle it.

I could never bike at 103. While I do bike, I prefer biking in the freezing cold weather.

At 103, I hide in my house, set the AC to 75 and pass out.

Back in my apartment where the outside temperature is listed at 80. That's like hot already. If my Raptor is forced to run at 39 degrees celsius, that's bad.... Gotta love temps in the 60s when my raptor can run at mid/low 30s.
