Ok, so I got the 285s tday (BFG OC2s).

-I Installed them without issues (used Driver Sweeper).
-Then I ran Vantage.
-BSOD about midway through.
-Temp on GPU2 topped 85c.
-Ran Vantage again, same result.
-Bumped the fans to 100% in Rivatuner.
-Ran Vantage again, no problem at all (22k on Performance) (Max temp on GPU2 hit 70c)

So, can I assume that my issue is overheating? The only reason I ask is because I thought these guys ran stable up to 90c no problem so locking at 85c seemed a little odd. The ONLY other thing I was suspecting is my PS maybe? Its a nice 750w PCP&C but it only has 2 6pin connectors so im using the adapters that came with the cards for the other two 6pins....didnt know if that can cause issue.

My Full Specs are:

Power Supply - 750Watt PC Power & Cooling
CPU - Core 2 Duo E8400
Mobo - EVGA nForce 780i SLi
Mem - 4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1066
Video - XFX GeForce 8800GTX x2 SLi
Sound - SB X-Fi Gamer
HDD - 500GB Seagate SATA PerpRec
Ethernet - Onboard Gigabit
DVDRW - Lite-On
BluRay - Lite-On

OS - Windows Vista Ultimate 64

UGH...gettin BSODs again now when GPU temps are under 60c. Had the same exact issues with dual 8800GTXs. Disable one card, no problems at all. Only when I run in SLi.

Are you OCing?

There is a very slight chance its a power issue but i doubt it. Since the system seams to have the trouble on while running in SLI i'd suspect your motherboard may be having issues.

Nope no OCing. Well, the cards are BFG OC2s but Im not OCing further than BFG has already clocked em. Had the same issue with 8800GTXs non-OC'd

Well, guess I'm gonna try a new PSU, something in the 1000w ranger I guess. Really can't figure this out but eventually if I replace every darn thing I'll hit on the part causing the trouble! PSU dont fix then the Mobo goes nxt!

My video card runs at 60C at full load and 45C at idle which should be the same for your video card if you have proper cooling in your case. As for the SLI problem, I am no expert on that subject.

Checkout this link which has excellent info on how much power your video card(s) would need.

Wattage isn't the issue, it's amperage. If you're using the 6-8 pin converters, there won't be problems assuming the 12v line on the PSU is capable of putting out 40+ amps for both cards at once, a quality 650w like the Corsair 650WTX (made by Seasonic) should be able to output enough amps to run those 2, although I was under the impression the PCP7C 750 Silencer was already able to.

1 card = fine
2 cards = not stable
Diagnosis: Not enough amps to run both.

1000w psu =/= enough amps to run both
