Itouch Display... Should I remove protective cover?

Are you talking about the one that comes from the factory? They work ok at first, but won't stay on long as they weren't designed for long term use.

iPhone/iPod Touch displays are very scratch resistant, but it wouldn't hurt to get a quality aftermarket screen protector such as the ones from DLO or Power Support. Both are very protective and well enough designed that you can't even tell there is anything on your screen.
