When are companies going to adjust the fixed prices of some of their products such as Xbox 360, or Apple Computers? Currently and Xbox 360 Premium in the US runs $399, the same Xbox 360 costs $499 in Canada. At the current exchange rate, it should actually be about $423. Great way for them to milk some extra $$$.

The same thing happens with Apple products. They will release an item at a fixed price, and leave it there for a minimum of 6 months it seems, often longer. A low end Macbook costs $1099 USD, but the same laptop will run you $1249.99 CND in Canada. At the current exchange rate, it should be about $1166, a difference of $83...

It also happens for many other products like TV's...

Granted this isn't a huge deal, but still annoying to be paying 12-15% more for the exact same product.

I understand theres shipping involved, but if a company can ship a product all over the US for the same price, then it wouldn't be unreasonable to do the same for Canada.

I agree with you. You Canadians are getting the shaft in these deals. The best thing you can do is simply decide to become our 51st, 52nd, 53rd, 54th, and 55th states.

Never mind. That'd be giving you the shaft even more!

I don't think we want Canada anyway.

..well, we'll take Alberta, but only because they've got more oil than Saudi Arabia ;)

It may not me entirely due to currency exchange rates, taxes and other things may inflate prices.

I noticed the same thing when I lived in the UK a few years ago. The prices on many items, especially electronics, were disproportionately expensive given the current exchange rate.

Which taxes? We do have a sales tax which is not included in these numbers, so the only point they'd have is we're paying more even more, because we're paying taxes on a higher price point.
