Itching to spend money, but one question unresolved.....................

two choices of card:
Msi Starforce geforce2 pro @£135
Leadtek winfast geforce2 pro @ £160

Ive read that the msi has fast ram so ultra speeds are possible. Can the leadtek do this also?
If theres nothing in it I'll go for the leadtek, but

if the cards are identical spec-wise, definitely go for the MSI. However, it's likely one of those cards is just a GTS pro, with 5.5 ns RAM instead of 5 ns RAM. double check this before you buy the MSI

sorry, got the prices the wrong way round, the msi is the more expensive
the leadteks specs do say 5.5ns memory, but the packaging makes not reference to gts, just pro!
seems to be some ambiguities concerning the difference
not sure about the msi's ram speed, but will check

its all marketing and trickery The leadtek with 5.5 nsis regarded as a GTS pro. Its performance is inbetween a gts and a pro, so you're gonna have to make the call if you feel the extra $30 is worth it. Personally i don't think so. but others might differ

I like the idea of overclocking the pro to an ultra, but seems to me that video card overclocking is a lot more dodgy than cpu clocking, and a lot more money lost if it fails!!
Bit of a dilema this!
