spill over from another thread. what's the rom like? does it use openfirmware or is it at pc-type bios?

Uses any standard bios chip. Usually, a 2 or 4 megabit chip. These can be easily programmable with any ROM programmer. They usually come in 18 or 24 pin CerDIP or 24-32-42 pin PLLC packages.
