Built by SGI, this 64 CPU monster, beats the stalwart CRAY C90, the CRAY SV1 and the Fujitsu VPP5000 CMOS vector-based supercomputers.
SGI are also quick to point out that this is a score obtained by an early development system, and they plan to work extensively on optimising their system.
What is perhaps more interesting, is that SGI have chosen not to use their custom IRIX OS, but instead the free UNIX clone linux.
