Interesting. I have pop-ups on CNN but not on Reuters.

They already have power lines going across there. We sailed under them a few times while I was on board the USS Independence (CV 62). I took some pictures of it once but they didn't really convey how weird it looked.

A bridge by the country that built the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Fiats scares me. ;)

You were supposed to smile to yourself and quietly move on to the next thread. ;)

A heck of a project but I believe very doable, only real main concern I would have is how would it fair against the major earthquakes they have in the area but the same holds true for the Golden Gate and it had some roadway collaspe outside of the arched span in the World Series Earthquake a few years back so the Italy bridge would be in the same boat.

LMFAO! Fear not. They'll make the suspension cables out of the world's longest spaghetti strands. :)

But they are the descendents of the people that built this as well so don't be too scared. :)

The current existing longest is in Japan near Kobe and it was built to withstand the severe and frequent quakes they get out there. The nasty Kobe quake a few years ago proved the design was worthy of its specs.
