An irish restaurant in Quebec must also have a sign in French. There is a reason why most of canada mocks and/or hates the Quebecois. They bring it on themselves acting like this.

The province is run amok with forced culturalism by the state. It's hilarious and shameful both at the same time.

What a bunch of busy body assholes.

demanding an italian restaurant put more french in their menu
In now way may I defend Bill 101 and anti-Charter of Rights & Freedoms legislation in Quebec, but Brian, the outrage in the presentation of this thread is unfounded. Try to be more thorough and honest upon a issue:

Quebec admits it used an ‘excess of zeal’ in crackdown on language on Italian restaurant’s menu - National Post, Feb 21 2013

The Quebec government says its language watchdog was a little too aggressive in pursuing an Italian restaurant for excessive use of Italian on its menu.

The provincial minister responsible for language says she realizes there was an “excess of zeal.”

Diane De Courcy says adjustments will be made in the specific case of the Montreal restaurant Buonanotte.

Speaking more generally, she says similar mistakes won’t be made in the future. She says the Office Quebecois de la langue francaise will be more careful to use a loophole in the application of the language law that offers some leeway for foreign cultural and food products.

i am outraged every time i have to say a french loanword in english, that makes no pronunciation sense!

darn those normans for conquering england and messing up the language!

and then invading english territory again in quebec!
