IT7 onboard sound

whoever owns this board plz tell us how the onboard sound is. does it sound tin-canny? how does it stack up to an audigy? good enuff for gaming? mp3s?

The sound is good actually. Not as good as an audigy, but passable until you find an audigy for the price you want. Unfortunately tho, I am having problems with my onboard sound right now. Win2k is installed properly and everything runs fine, but the hardware sound isn't recognized. I've tried isntalling the drivers multiple times with no success, and I will be calling Abit in the morning for help. Anyway, when it's working, it sounds pretty good. Good luck.

Cytosin,

I had this problem wit a friends BG7. The sound kicked in once we fixed the PCI to 33 MHz,
and disabled MIDI device.

i just setup my abit it7 - the sound is actually very good for onboard sound
i've used it with quake, doom ,wolfenstein, etc... (mostly demos for benchmarking)
i have no problems setting it up with the drivers off the abit cd....

oh yeah i forgot - i also run dvd movies on my system and it sounds pretty decent...

Edit: My Rig

the sound is good... well average point. but i found that the driver is not included for all the connector to be shown. only three of the connector on the setup. it makes me gave up the line-in if i want to use it as the rear speaker. i tried both driver from the cd, from abit site and from www.avance.com site. did i do something wrong...???
