Got to pass this on.Bummed friend because of a cracked dead amd chip gives it to me Iam waiting on mine in the mail but could use it to setup heatsink and you know just play.
Well i got the Swiftech all lined up on the chip bare no goop of course remember the chip is dead. And install some fans. i then go to plug it in to see if all the fans work and as i pat myself on the back I hear this noise. What is that a POST beep????
i flip on the moniter and there sits the Windows 98 window. WOW. How can this be???
Iam guessing the cracked chip and you can see the little shiny things in there were shorting out with the goop and mounted BARE it picks up the high points of the chip and does not short out but runs.
Am I happy you bet but you know who's going to be more happy?? you got it. My new stuff gets here monday.Wiull I keep it until then??? NA I got a hot p166 to keep me going till then. Freaky but had to tell someone.
