So, I was sitting on the couch watching tv with this chick. Things were getting a little 'tense,' if you know what I mean. A commercial for the sitcom Will and Grace came on.

She said "I like that show."

I responded by saying "It annoys me."

"It would" she says.

"It would?" I reply.

"It would" she says slowly, deliberately, one last time staring directly into my eyes.


And then I read between the lines and I was like WTF - you're my best friends little sister!

My theory is that this is what happens when a generation is raised on the cartoons of now instead of the cartoons of 10 years ago. Spongebob Squarepants et al, vs. Batman/Spiderman/X-Men/Gargoyles.

What's weird is we were just watching a really bad movie on showtime about a 40 year old man that layed his best friends daughter. I think I made it clear that things like that aren't cool to her.

I think it's funny sometimes, but I'm getting tired of the rapid-fire witty dialogue thing all the sitcoms seem to be doing these days. It gets hard to listen to after awhile.
