got my bumper replaced less than two weeks ago after I got rear ended on 101 southbound. it looked pretty for nine days.

Last night a car with enough clearance rolled over the top of my Mazda3 and scratched it. It's only minor damage, and I expect that while living in SF, but even so....

I can't wait for the day that SUVs cease to exist. And I'm sorry, but anyone living in SF or the greater bay area, with extreme exceptions, can't use the "I need it for work" excuse.

$5 onward!

Could have been a pick-up too. A SUV is no different than a pick-up and plenty of jobs require hauling around tools, equipment, etc. Or someone like me who likes to haul 4 people and 3 dogs.

Ya, I could probably climb over the POS in about 5 seconds with my truck.

In SF you must put aside all thoughts of a non-dinged up bumper. Make peace with the scrapes, small dents, etc. It's just a fact when people are parking by braille.

I had someone in a sedan rear-end my truck a few weeks ago. Her car went underneath my trailer hitch and left no visible damage. It works both ways.

Plumbers, contractors, carpet installers, pest control, landscapers/gardeners - all need trucks or vans or SUV's to haul materials & tools.

Don't forget about your blue collar neighbors:roll:

I know. Still, if it had been a _car_, it wouldn't have happened. Going over the top of it takes some seriously shitty parking skills.

Hope you keep that attitude while you moan and groan about prices for everything you buy continue to go up.....remember, every single thing you buy is, at one point, transported by something, including trucks....and trucks are paying much more for fuel than gas-powered vehicles.

So, while I find your rant a tad weak, it's also quite misplaced. But only a narrow-minded, completely misguided pre-adult could want to see prices for something that will have huge ripple effects in every single aspect of the retail sector to increase dramatically.....and cheer for it, to boot.

Have fun!

It's not SUV's, it's idiot drivers who think that since they're in a ginormous vehicle, they own the road.
Of course, they're likely to be idiots anyway, regardless of the vehicle they're in. A large vehicle just allows an idiot to cause more damage.

Sadly, more expensive gas will not cure idiocy. If it did, I'd be pushing for $50/gallon gasoline.

If your car is simply transportation, then you shouldn't give a flying fuck if your car is scratched up or whatnot.

Paint is peeling on my car's roof, I'm missing a hub cab, but my car still runs great which is all that matters.

Not all cars are just for transportation though, which I'll never understand but I can appreciate.

I'm happy for those who have them and need them, the issue probably isn't against those who have them out of need, but rather the folks that use them to carry themselves and groceries.

I Agree! It's one slow assm'ther f'ker takes nine days to roll his ass over a bumper. Must have had keys sticking out of his pocket to scratch it. Not sure it matters, though, that it was an SUV driver. I'd think a luxery car driver might have something sticking out of his pocket too. Why even point out it was an SUV driver that rolled over his bumper, why not just say some guy took nine days to roll over on his bumper.
