I'm making a pot of homemade tomato sauce for a Super Bowl party, and I have to say not much smells better than freshly cooked sauce filling the house.

Someone should make an air freshener or something with this smell.. mmmmm

that is all

It's really easy

In a large pot
Sautee chopped garlic in 3 tbsp of olive oil
Add 2 large cans of crushed tomatoes.
Add basil, oregano, salt and pepper to taste
(if you want a spicy sauce add red pepper flakes also)
bring to a boil over low heat.
stir in 1-2 tbsp of tomato paste (depending on how thick you want it)
cook stirring every 20 minutes or so for at least an hour. I usually do about 2 hours.

that all there is too it. Everyone who has tried it loves my sauce so I guess it's good.
