In my experience, all parents think their child is an angel, and they all readily forget, or are oblivious of, the times their child has driven the people around them nearly to infanticide.

Funny, I tend to think my kids are the most poorly behaved miserable brats in the world. What's funny is just about everybody else takes the time to comment and point out how well behaved and polite they are. The whole time I'm left wondering if they're thinking of someone else's kids or on crack (and not sharing).

Anyway, Gaydar... next time why don't you drive yourself and save the rest of the world your opinion. Because obviously you're right... in your own self-centered egotistical little world of yours.

I don't have kids.

Also, it's essentially impossible to do a meaningful study, scientifically valid study on a subject like child-rearing. Psychology and sociology are NOT real sciences, and the people who claim they can show that spanking is ineffective are usually pushing an agenda.

Like I said, I'm not a big fan of corporal punishment. During my whole childhood I was swatted on the rear maybe two or three times. I don't think I would've been a better kid if it had happened more often, but on those very rare occasions it was an excellent way to let me know that what I'd done was absolutely NOT acceptable. Certainly a hell of a lot better than drugging kids with amphetamines while hiding behind imaginary "illnesses" like ADD.

If my parents didn't beat my ass occasionally, I can only imagine what kind of Asshole I would of grown up and become.

They probably didn't beat my ass enough

Heh, you were a miserable brat ass kid once. Maybe we should lock you up since i'm sure you were always perfectly behaved.

This thread is full of people who never misbehaved as children, despite their parents best efforts.

Or it's full of people that don't know what to do with that rock pile they've collected inside their glass house.

Either way, can't quite tell.
yeah... um, no.

i was a little bastard, but if i EVER and i mean EVER put on a show like that maniac kid on the plane ride home from Vegas, i would have been severely beaten with my Dad's belt.

nice try though.

As somebody who flies about 40 times a year, man up pussy.

My worst experience - lady next to me starts projectile vomiting and goes into a seizure. She comes out of the seizure, picks a bit of food off her shirt and puts it in her mouth.

I hate people who hate kids. Just shutup and be thankful your mom did not kill you.

I make a point never to spend more than a few minutes at a time around children under the age of 10, so 90 minutes was hell for me.

It's an airplane man, they're a fucking nightmare. Last time we were on there was one fussy baby but on the way back I saw some smart parents run their kid around the airport so she fell asleep on the plane. Didn't hear a peep out of her.

But last year I was sitting next to this old bastard that had that bad breath disease that makes you wish you were sitting next to a corpse. And then I have to assume old people are shitting their pants as often as the babies because there were no babies, I was in the middle of the plane and I still kept smelling shit. And you've got the guys hacking it up like they have the plague or something.

And 90 minutes! Boo fucking hoo! Try that crap for 5 hours flying across the US.

lmao @ bad breath disease.

I love these stories. I luck out in my air travel. The worse I got was a women having a middle age crisis coming back from Vegas.

So to be clear on this... the parents are assholes who let their kids run around on a plane, and you're a pussy who can't stand up for himself.

A while back I had a kid kicking the back of my seat for an entire flight from Florida to NY - 2 hours. The mother didn't seem to care or think she could do anything about it, and my request to stop just made him kick more enthusiastically. If I could've been guaranteed legal amnesty, I wouldn't have hesitated to punch both of their lights out nor had any regrets about it.

There really should be some sort of breeding restrictions placed on people. I'd estimate that around 70-80% of the population are not capable of raising a child to be a civilized human being.

That's not quite true. You simply don't notice or remember the kids who DO behave.

Somebody post a link to the Family Guy sketch where Brian goes ballistic on a crying brat and his parents.

So I'm curious. If kids shouldn't be allowed on planes, how exactly would you prefer they get places? In the luggage compartment? Or are families not allowed to move/go anywhere together in Gayner world?

My mom's solution? Gave us a benadryl before the flight. Everyone thought me and my brother were so well behaved because we would just sleep through the flight...

right...if you are buying the ghetto flight, expect kids and loud people.

I absolutely never pick the lowest cost flight anywhere for this reason.

You can't have cheap and all the perks.

Ah hell for 1.5 hours just man up and take it... unless you're loaded. Then again the last long ass flight I took I ended up in coach (company paid... blah economy and no longer getting biz class) but thankfully my noise canceling headphones saved my ass.
