It seems the i7-870 isn't that popular

All i ever seen/heard about, is the i7-950/i7-930 and plus there isn't any reviews on the i7-870 on youtube or alot of people who are using while playing games, theres a few, but not many...

The i7-870 is a slightly (because of better turbo) faster chip than an i7-940; They run at the same clock speed. The memory bandwidth difference is insignificant at home, which is what Socket-1156 was designed for. There are around five bajillion people on this forum with an 860 or 870, and one sumbitch with a 990X.

My Xeon X3440 is basically a down-clocked 870, with ECC support.

okay, now your just being mean :'(... I couldn't buy a 875k:'(, it took me 2 years of saving for this pc :'(..................























Joking! But really the 875k cost to much! and it isn' at Newegg:confused:

860 is more popular because it's cheaper while getting the same oc speeds as the 870. Intel had to release the 875k to make it more appealing

Yes, his name starts and ends with an A. I'm was just joking about the 875K, but it's a redundant CPU... IMO it wasn't until this P67 bullshit that we even needed unlocked multipliers. I got the 1156 Xeon on my desktop to 4.0 24/7/365, and stock it was 2.53. I bought it because I need ECC support. If Sandy Bridge was on 1156 we (and Intel) wouldn't be in this mess right now.
