For all of those who say the Windows XP SP2 limit on concurrent TCP/IP connections shouldn't cause any problems for a properly written application. it seems that's not the case. I would think all applications should have been written properly since the release of Windows XP SP2. However, NBA Live 2005, when I try and play EA Sports online, the game randomly halts back to the desktop in NBA Live 2005. It happens much more frequently when I host a game and get a fast PING. The faster the ping, the more it does it. In fact, when I get a ping around 63ms or lower, it happens right away. I checked Event Viewer, and under the Systmne Log, a warning is listed from TCPIP and it states that TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent connections. NBA Live 2005 was released shortly after Windows XP SP2 came about, so I would think that if any program written properly shouldn't be affected by the limit of 10 concurrent TCP/IP connections queue, that NBA Live 2005 would be on of them. It seems that there is still use for the TCP/IP patch after all.
So for all of those who say it's a bad idea and not to do it, I just found a valid reason to do so.
