IT"S ALIIIIIIIIVVVVVE!!!!!!

Electric Amish

Elite Member
The Matrox gods of Tech Support have resurrected my baby!!!!

Let it be known that on this day, April 1, 2002, the trusty G400 owned by Electric Amish has passed into the night.... With it's last breath it uttered these words, "BEEEEEP Beep Beep Beep."

It's owner, Mr. Amish was heard to say," You were such a good card. *sniff* You always gave me everything you had whenever I asked it of you and you never complained. From fragging in UT to cramming to get that Visual C++ assignment done, you were always there for me. I'll miss you and think of you often. *sniff*"

When interviewed, Mr. Amish had this to say,"I believe it was called back by it's maker. It's spirit will soon? be born again in a new body. Strong and fast. It will be called Parhelia."

I think this thread has helped me make a decision... I think Ill be buying another Matrox card instead of purchasing an nVidia based card. Ill have to wait longer, but I think Ill be happier. So atleast something good has come out of this...

The Motherboard did it! :| Lots of motherboards going crazy killing soundcards and video cards these days. Dont they have better things to do. Damn those motherboards!

sounds like an electrical surge caused by a distant lightning strike caused that to me 🙂

better contact the insurance company and get it replaced with a top of the line card immediately...

The top of the line card is not available yet. There's no way in hell I'm putting a piece of nvidia in my box!

Parhelia will be here soon!

nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
what a horrible loss 🙁

Only about 1-2 months now untill you may rise again 🙂

Having had a similar tragedy befall my G-200/16 (lightning hit), I know the pain your feeling.
I found solace in the arms of a new vid card, a radeon (hussy).
I know, I know, I didn't wait the appropriate amount of time, but I have needs too.

The AGP slot will most likely be kept warm by an ATI Radeon 8500 LE....

Inferior in all things but speed... but as close as is available...

More smoke, brought to you by...Matrox.

Come on, be respectful. A great member of the video card community has just passed.... And he could have said a GeForce, so atleast he is going with a great company 🙂

This better not be one of those in poor taste April Fool's jokes, pulling at heart strings of the public to garner sympathy then *wham* the egg's on us. :disgust:

😉

There may yet be hope!

Talked to the Matrox Tech Support and they directed me to a utility that will recover the bios. They said that could bring it back to life. 🙂

I'm going to try it as soon as I get home tonight. 🙂

Thats good news, I'm glad you hopefully wont have to use inferior cards like the Radeon untill the next matrox comes out 😉
