IT Recruiting?

I have been going on a few interviews to be an IT recruiter. Anyone have any insights on this as a job?

Seems pointless, since most places aren't hiring IT workers, anyway.

I'm in NYC, and from what they tell me (of course this is the people interviewing me.) they are getting a lot of REQ's for IT people in very specialized niches.

basically a headhunter right ? I know someone who's been doing this for a few years now in NYC... he seems to like it... though I can't speak for how well they're doing these days.
