IT Pros, what antivirus does your company use?

We currently have 20 employees and a couple extra workstations. We have been using AVG Network Edition 8.5 but now that I've begun to replace old boxes with Windows 7 workstations I have found that it's not supported.

Before recommending the upgrade to AVG Network Edition 9.0, I thought I should find out what else is out there in the network environment that I should consider at this point in time.

Thanks.

I use Symantec Endpoint Manager, latest version and it's pretty good for the most part. After the initial setup, it's been quite stable and fast.

I've used Symantec Endpoint Protection, and while the Symantec Client works well enough, the management interface tends to break way too often.

One of my colleagues in another organization uses Microsoft Forefront. I don't have any personal experience with it, but he seems to be pleased with its performance.

agreed, there have been a lot of problems with the managment interface in the past, but lately it's been good and i haven't had any problems with the latest version.

I've also heard good things about Forefront but don't have any experience with it or know anyone who has it.. but i'd like to check it out.

Symantec and probably 30-45k nodes. Has been pretty solid for years. We also use M86, BlueCoat, Checkpoint, and other layers.

maybe suggest kaspersky?

i can't in good conscience recommend avg or symantec.

nod32 is expensive in numbers. kaspersky is cheaper and as good as nod32.

We use TrendMicro OfficeScan on 13000+ workstations and TrendMicro Server Protect on our servers. We've been very happy with the product, performance, price and detection-wise.

Our colleagues using McAfee were bit by the false-positive the other week and our other colleagues using ForeFront were still hit with Conficker when it first came out.

Same here with SEP and SEPM.

Hospital I worked at used Symantec Endpoint on every device.

Current financial company I work for uses it on every device too.

I use Symantec Endpoint Manager, latest version and it's pretty good for the most part. After the initial setup, it's been quite stable and fast.

I've heard the central management system for both NOD and Kas have issues that doesn't allow for seamless expandability and updates throughout a client base. McAfee is what most colleges use, but mind you most colleges are thousands of users, not 10's
