IT professionals: Compliance vs Technical positions

Which type of IT position will yield better pay and more enjoyable in the long run?

IT Compliance type positions like IT Auditing, Security Analyst, IT Risk Consultants

vs more Technical positions like Systems Engineer, Security Architect, Network Engineer, etc?

Whichever one you could stand out more in. They both have potential, but if you're not an expert in one you're not going to be making enough money to brag about.

Either way you are starting ground floor if you don't already have an IT background. IT compliance is trendy. I suggest you also get a project management cred while you are at it.
