IT Poll

My technically oriented coworkers know their stuff... it's the basic communication skills and social graces we need to work on 🙁

I'd say I feel the same way, my coworkers are great.. it's the other teams that I have to deal with that drive me up the wall.

I feel very much out of place at my work. MIT, Stanford, Berkeley PHD's work with me. The guy who works directly with me went to a school for gifted kids. The latest guy they just hired was a programmer for Mozilla at Netscape.

The ones I worked with on helpdesk, while knowledgable, were lazy as hell. They would try their hardest to get their work done by others in the group (aka, the intern, me) and then take credit for it...They were all really great guys to hang out with and talk to....but their work skills were absolute sh!t.

If you are wondering how none of them have managed to get fired yet...they are all good highschool buddies with one another......

my coworkers rock. They know their stuff and get their work done. Of the 6 people in my group (including the team lead), I'd consider myself less experienced on average, though more well versed in some aspects.

EDIT: There is a guy in the group who is a total noob though, His name is Rich.

This is surprising, how is it that most IT people outside my immediate coworkers are total mouth breathers then? 😀

Mostly better than myself, which is nice because it keeps me on my toes and always learning.
