IT Poll: Some Users + computers = bad karma...

This poll is for anyone that works in IT in tech support for an established user base. Work, home, or for extended family. You all apply.

Maybe its just me, but every work environment I've been a part of, there is always at least one user, who gives me trouble. Now as far as I can tell without installing spyware to record keystrokes, this user does not abuse their computer but treats it properly. The catch is stuff always goes wrong. You name it and its probably happened.

To me its bad karma or something. Maybe its just me *shurgs*

For clarification, yes we'ved moved that user to another computer, but its still persists. Now it doesn't happened 24/7, 356 days a year but it comes and goes in waves.

Anyone else have a user with "bad" karma?

Edit
"happened" should be "happen"

Definitely man. I do a lot of tech support at our school (more than half 😛). Some of the teachers there 😕 they are just so STUPID - always screw stuff up! ALWAYS THE SAME ONES TOO 😛

next time tell them package everything up and bring back to you during recess...tell them that they're too stupid to use a pc.

their getting a mac 😛

The difference is these jinxes aren't stupid, things just "happen" to them, like out of 5 identical new PCs theirs is the one with flaky memory or motherboard, that works just well enough to make it hard to RMA.

Or they are migrating to a new machine and it seemed to go well but 2 months later after the backup you made is gone they discover some key documents are corrupted. And of course they never backed them up themselves.

Yep, every office has at least one cursed PC user to add a little hell to support 🙂

I support LAN Admins, and I have a few of them that are clueless. I have one that can never do anything right. She's sweet as sunshine, but is completely unable to think on her feet.

Yes thats what I mean. This has nothing to do with stupidity or being clueless.
