"this power cord is special, it has 3 prongs"

i'm wondering if shes looked at an appliance in the last two decades...

I love stuff like when I "fix" a modem by moving the phone line from the "phone" jack to the "line" jack just like the instructions tell you to do. That, and the time I went through a tangle of cords to unplug and fix the family's VCR only to find, after tracing the VCR cord, that the VCR had been plugged into itself when my sister hooked it up.

well, at least she was looking at the instruction sheet even if she didn't know the terminology and thought that every plug on the back had to be used. i swear they'd save like $1 a box if they stopped putting that in there... doesn't seem like anyone ever looks at it...

Me: Which cable modem do you have there?
Them: How am I supposed to know that? I'm not very technical.
Me: (Thinking "You could try looking at the fscking thing.") The name should be written on the top.
Them: It says Tobishi.

I think you can hook it up that way and use it to dub tapes without a second VCR. Yeah that's it, it kinda works like TiVo without the delay. 🙂
