Literally.

The least attractive one-sixth of men in a company can make 10% less than average looking men. The top third most attractive men in a company can make 5% more money. Women experience similar effects.

And if you're obese, you're seen as not as qualified as a thin person.

Thank goodness I'm thin and above average looking. If only I were a bit taller.;)

Not surprising...although I'm sure that in a corporate perspective, maybe better looking people would be more confident, which carries over to how their supervisors see them...

I dunno, I've yet to experience a true "career", we'll see how things go. :)

"sir, we're doing a study on how ugly people tend to make less money.....can you tell us how much you make?" :p

Is this all else equal?

Good-looking people would probably also be more likely to come from better upbringings and take better care of themselves...

Both of these are things that could at once make them better-looking and more likely to succeed...

Here's a question, when they determine these statistics (whoever does them), how do they determine who is good looking, and who is average, and who is ugly, and who is dear lord what the fsck are you? I differentiating between the extremes may be one thing, but how do you determine someone is too ugly to be considered average?
