i almost done with college, ive been working
as IT for a company for a year now. i didnt
intend on staying in this industry, but now
i really like what i do. i was thinking about
getting an MCSE and CCNA in the next year.
what skills and certifications do you guys
think are important in network administration?

as far as experience goes...
right now, i administer a small (50 workstations
or so) mac/pc network. our servers are NT4. im
pretty much in charge of everything network and
computer related.

any advice from guys that are in the field
is appreciated, also, how did you guys all get
started??

thanks

Alright, Networking.. :).. my forte`

The best thing to do is to try to get a job with a 3rd party support company, this way you work with different problems and different networks each day so you gain more knowledge. Get your MCSE Certification as well as your CCNA.. strive to get your CCIE but for some people that is just not feasable. If you know linux pretty well I would try to get your RHCE, I know some companies forking out quite a bit of cash to get an RHCE on staff.

Cert Track: (opt = optional)
Network+ (Opt)
CCNA
MCSE
CCNP (Opt)
CCIE
RHCE (Opt)

more shameless begging for help: I need help on my website aimed at IT certifications (www.techcerts.com) if you would like to help develop this site then PM me or e-mail me.
