that 9 times out of ten, if I get stuck behind some idiot driver, or SEE some moron driving carelessly or poorly, when I finally get past them guess what? They are talking on a cell phone!:Q

People have to take a eye exam when getting their license and if they can't pass the test without their glass's the law says they must wear them when they drive.

I think they should have a distraction test as part of getting your license.

If you want to drive and talk at the same time, you should have to take the DRIVING test while gabbing on the phone. Flunk the test and if you are pulled over with a cell phone with-in your reach it's an automatic ticket!!

Pass the test and you get a code on your license that say's you are competent.

Sound like a good idea to anyone else??

Agree that allot of people can't handle it but I personally find that I concentrating on the road even more then usually when I?m on cell phone then if I?m not. Guess because I know that you lose concentration when you are on cell phone I compensate it by concentrating even more on the road while I?m on the cell phone.

Look, I wasnt trying to flame. In your 7000 some odd posts I havent ever said anything. Why? Wasnt goona make a big deal. Someone else mentioned it, so I voiced my opinions. Guess what....That free choice goes both ways. I can choose to not read or I can choose to state how I feel. Provided I dont harp on it in every thread (Which as I said this is the first time I've EVER said anything) then it shouldnt be a problem.

Talking to cellphone while driving was made illegal at beginning of this year in Finland. Sucks for us who can actually do two things at the same time. The ticket is only same what you'd get driving without seatbelt tho, so there's lots of us who have absolutely no intention of obeying this law.

Well, won't be long until talking on a cell phone will be illegal in all states. Well, unless you're using a hands-free phone. I do talk on the phone while driving but always have the phone in my right hand when I don't have the hands-free hooked up. This allows me to keep my left hand on the steering wheel (which is how I drive 99% of the time anyway) and I still reach my turn signals so I can alert others to my lane-changes and merging.

And, I have no problem dropping the phone in mid-sentence if I get into serious traffic. Have done that many a time. Or just hang up on them and drop it and focus on driving.
