It must be embarrassing to drive a police car that only has flashing yellow lights

It must be embarrassing to be constantly emasculated by the people you "love".

Never seen a cop car with only yellow lights. Red and blue is standard colors for police.

Apparently it used to be only red but red has this odd effect of hympatizing(sp?) people and they'd drive right into a cop car that has flashing lights. So they added blue too. I only heard this, I don't know whether or not it's a myth or what but thought it was interesting.

Sounds like BS dude. I think it is just more visible.

Sounds like BS for sure because fire and ambulance have red and white beacons, as do aircraft.

Yellow beacons are used on maintenance and construction vehicles. A "cop car" with yellow lights is probably building or transit security.

I think he just can't tell the difference between a cop car and a tow truck.

Rent-a-cops and other security type people have yellow, blue or green lights a lot of the time. As a teenager I had 7 people in a Honda Civic DX hatchback while leaving a club one night and the security guard for the area the club was in switched his yellow lights on behind us expecting us to stop.
Not a cop = not a stop.
He followed us for miles as we dropped people off at their houses, and when it was down to just me and a friend who was going to stay with me, we stopped in the right lane with him behind us and just sat there.
After what seemed like a few minutes, he switched his lights off, did a U-turn and left.
He probably (finally) realized he couldn't actually do anything.
What a joke.

This. We have a village security where I live, and they drive around all night with their yellow lights flashing. I don't even know what kind of legal responsibility they have, I should probably research that since our village taxes pay their salaries. I just know they have a presence in my neighborhood.

I've always wondered if they carry firearms.
