It must be a trap, right?

I'm looking at used cars through craigslist/autotrader/local dealers and whatnot and have come across one on craigslist that's priced very well for the year/features. Here's the Ackbar part, it's in North Dakota, it's being sold by someone being redeployed to Afghanistan soon and he's willing to ship the vehicle through DAS. The seller mentioned that AutoCheck offers an escrow type service where for three days after delivery payment will be held until I'm satisfied. I haven't been able to find anything like that on the autocheck site though. Anyone ever heard of that from autocheck? I've requested the VIN and an autocheck, but the old "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" is screaming at me right now. I'm so very leaning towards run like hell on this but I just have to see if I can get any specific VIN info on this.

I see those all the time.
1) listed in your city but not where it is located? BZZZT!
2)any deal involving shipping? BZZZT!

There was a similar deal on a dodge diesel truck worth about 10K, selling for 4800 or something. Listed in Washington, located in OK, not listed there.

I bet if you go back it has already been flagged and removed. IF not, flag it yourself.

Even if the VIN comes back to a legitimate vehicle, that doesn't mean much - I could walk out to a parking lot and get any VIN I wanted.

If it smells funny, chances are it is.

I figured it was complete BS. Ran a google search on the e-mail address and it shows up all over the place as BS. Oh well, would have been nice if it were true. Now to see how long I can keep this guy strung along.

I had some jackass trying to string me along like that...said the car was in the UK so I told him that I had a good friend who lives in the UK and that he would come by and take a look at the car for me. Never heard back from him after that.
