I've been working on a friend's system and it looks like the last heatsink fin in row 3 (of hsi VOS32) is coming into contact with a bare wire on a motherboard (K7 Pro) capacitor - actually I'm not sure if it's a capacitor, it's a snail-looking thing with wire coiled around it. Anyways, it looks like the heatsink fin is coming into contact with it - as a result, the processor isn't being read by the motherboard. WTF? If I wiggle it out thene it reads it just fine, but I'm afraid to tell him to put it back in his case with this problem...
Can I fix this by putting a little piece of electrical tape over the heatsink fin that it comes into contact with? Or what?
