Thanks to the incomparable instability of Windows ME and my &*!@$#%! mobo, my system has decided to commit seppuku. I am currently administering CPR and trying to recover my paper which is due Tuesday, although it looks like it will be a total loss. :( Not sure when I will be back on. Later, everyone.

Damn you Bill Gates! DAMN YOU TO HELL!

I am currently running in something like 2X1 resolution. It sucks! :|

Sorry to hear that ShotgunSteve :(

maybe it's time for an upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP (and they handle the VLAR WUs better as well ;)) i always had trouble with WinMe, so as soon as i could i upgraded to 2000.

i hope you get your paper in for Tuesday, we'll all be here when you've finished, just concentrate on the paper!

good luck!!

Well, I discovered something. If you download and try to install the new GeForce drivers, the new ones do not overwrite the old ones in WindowsME. Instead, it tries to run both sets at once and royally screws your computer. :|

I had major troubles with Windows ME, I switched to Win2k and now my PC will run 24/7 for months without a reboot .

I don't know if it helps at this stage but they do have a utility that completely wipes out all old NVIDIA drivers - so you can perform a wipe and then install the new driver.

I am just happy to have it stable again. I have pretty much finished moving stuff to other HD's so I am just going to wait now until I install XP and then I will use the XP drivers.

Better than made by Steve Jobs, like those crashaholic POS Macs we have at work.

This current upgrade will tide me over until I get my Athlon XP mobo and proc next month. Mmmmmm.... :p

So are you liking XP then? I'm thinking i might upgrade, I'm tired of WinME BS, but I'm going to be getting a whole new system in a while anyway, so the other part of me says just wait...

Believe me, changing from WinME to XP is SO fricking easy. I did not have to juggle a single driver disc. Just installed XP, it detected all of my stuff and found the appropriate drivers for all of it. Easiest install/upgrade I have ever done.

Is that Windows XP Home Edition or Professional? Just curious.:) I'm still not convinced that I should upgrade my Windows 2000 installations (at least MS didn't help at all when they priced XP Pro over $140 and required an acknowledgement code from them for the installation)
