it just occurred to me that my life is 1/3 over

I'm 24 and the average male in the us only lives to the mid 70s or so. This is kind of sucky.

Im sure that life expectancy will raise as the years go by and medical technology progresses, so youre probably only a good 1/4 to 1/5th through. Dont sweat it.

Ah, but just think of it this way: Your life being under the age of 50 is almost 1/2 over.

Now, don't you feel better?

well, i came to this realization because it's dark in my room and so I turn on one of those 300W halogen floor standing lights. Room wasn't that much brighter and I remembered that when I was in HS, these lights were like turning on the sun in the middle of the night. I think it might be night vision degradation, as people age they lose their ability to see in low light. I mean it's still the same type and wattage lamp I had in HS.

I dunno, I notice that for people who live past 75-80, it's a hanging on by a thread kind of thing. Can't drive, limp around, etc. When it's time to go, it's time to go. When I can't wipe my own ass anymore, I want to die.

Ahh don't worry about it.

You could die suddenly from an accident, and never know it was coming

on the other hand you could develop a fatal illness and die a painful and protracted death

you could die in you sleep of a heart attack or stroke

you could live to a ripe old age and hope you don't die alone as you struggle for your inevitable last breath

Just something to cheer you up :D

I'm 24 as well, 26 more years and I'll be 50 :Q :p Age is what you think of it. Some 50s folks are prolly in physically better shape than us in our 20s. But yes, time and life does go by fast doesn't it?

If I could choose, I'd wish to die at 75 when I beleive I would still be independent and self capable. Don't want to wait till I'm frail and in a wheelchair and most of my senses deteriorated to a point where I need the aid of others.

My life is almost half over. You never know though. You could live to be a healthy 100 or die very suddenly while realtivly young.

Funny, I had the same thought recently.

21 years old, statistically I could be anywhere from 1/4 at best to 1/3.

Of course non-statistically, the S at the end of this post could be my final keystroke.

I really wouldn't care so much if I suddenly died tomorrow if it weren't for loved ones. Getting by is like trying to walk through a never ending mine field. I'm tired of fighting.

Probably true more often than not.
My Dad will be 84 next month, and he still drives pretty well.
He was the one that drove himself, my Mom and my only Uncle to see me in the Hospital after my Quadruple bypass a few years ago.

Hell with advances in medicine maybe you will live till you are 80... probably longer, assuming you don't die along the way.

I've thought of that too. If I was an orphan and had no friends I could just kill myself and RIP whithout any guilt.
