Yes, SAP consultants make a fair amount. My best friend's father made 150,000+/year and had no expenses because he could expense account everything.

I personally have a year's experience with SAP R/3 SD module (Pricing) (1 full lifecycle) but couldn't break in because I lacked a degree. I'm now back in school, enrolled in the MIS program and hope to break into the market when I graduate. It's not something for everyone, and you'll probably hate it if you are in it just for the money.
 
I would stay away from such things if you are thinking long term. things like SAP etc are fads. So in a couple of years, you might be out of a job.
 
SAP is alot bigger outside the US. It was started back in the 70s and it is not a fad. IMO
I am in a SAP Administration class right now at my Univ it is an advanced elective for me, this
is my introduction to it.

Interesting isn't it? I loved just how easily it lends itself to nearly any business and business model. 🙂

I wouldn't cal SAP a fad.

My friend work with SAP for 5 yrs now and he just bought $200k house and always travel. Go for it!
 
a quick question, what exactly is sap, the company website doesn't really explain exactly what it does. It just says "Business Solutions" can someone enlighten me?

I think it's just like Oracle is. A database on which numerous applications are built on.
