My roommates threw all of my mail in a package and mailed it to me last week (I haven't been around in a while). It hasn't come yet and I'm afraid it's lost.

But just curious to know if perhaps the USPS decided to stop it or something? Is it illegal to mail mail?

OK, just to make it clearer before everyone thinks I'm a dummy, my roommate said it was quite obvious mail was in the letter. It was one of those large but thin mailers.

That makes things like crystal. Good work.

When you finally get the package, just don't package it up again and mail it off somewhere else. Mailing mailed mail would cause a complete shutdown of the Postal system.

Even if incorrect postage was used, the Post Office will either return the package to the sender which a statement. Or give a notice to the receiver that they need to pay postage before getting the package.

If they put your mail into a larger envelope, theo nly thing you'd have to worry about is if they used enough postage.

You sure they didn't use one of their business reply envelopes to mail your mail?? ;)

In answer to your question, it's not illegal. When a friend was in Iraq (working for KBR), I'd save his mail up, put it in a priority mail box or tyvek envelope, then mail it to him every couple weeks. Always got there just fine. :)

Whoa, I just thought of something.

What if I mailed something to myself, with me as the return address, then when it comes, put it back in the mailbox...

Could you make the return address the person you want to send it it and put improper postage on it? That way it will get returned to the recipient for free/cheap.

The needle on my sarcasm meter just spun off and twanged me in the eye.
