I'm at a dilemma, for the most part, my problems are fixed, yet I am at the roads of "to update or to not update". The only real annoying problem I have currently is Diablo 2 won't work in Direct3D but will in Direct Draw. I do have some wierd illegal errors where at the startup of my computer I start opening stuff immediately wmiexe and explorer will crash but if I wait a few seconds it doesn't. These are the current updates I'm looking at and my system is in my sig, update or not?

AOpen DVD-1640 Pro Firmware v1.22
AOpen DVD-1640 Pro MS-DOS IDE Driver v6.02
ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO Windows 98 Drivers v4.13.7075
IWill KK266-R for Product No is 35102A BIOS Date Code, May 15,2001
IWill KK266-R VIA 4 IN 1 Drivers v4.23

Currently everything I'm using now was bundled with the hardware and I purchased about two to three weeks ago, I don't think I even have 4 IN 1's installed? Anyways, that's where I'm sitting, could use some help please.

Edit: Also, If my DVD-Rom drive works without installing the drivers should I?

I have an IWILL KK266 and I use the Via 4.31 drivers. This set has fixes for IDE transfer issues and SBLive compatibility issues. I would recommend updating to that version of via drivers. There is a 4.32 version out, but its not the certified version yet.

How do you tell if the drivers are VIA certified? If it says "Final" with them?

Anyone else have any ideas on what I should or shouldn't do?

Not nec to install drivers for DVD.

Seems to me I went back to using the 7075 ATi drivers but I've got an AIW and the newer ones had a couple glitches related to TV stuff.

Don't know anything about the mobo but probably wouldn't hurt to install the latest VIA 4 IN 1 drivers.
Grab those over at VIA's site.

Final just means there not Beta anymore they're supported by whoever made them (if talking about the VIA drivers then yes they are certified once they're final).

So I take it that it must have come with my IWill CD? Cause I don't recall seeing anything that mentioned them, anywhere where I can find out if I have them installed and what version I have currently installed? Same with my Radeon drivers, how do I find what version I have if it came bundled?
