I always wondered why someone would want to inherit such a fscking mess.

It's only wrong so far as Republicans blame Kerry for Bush's failures. And they will.

That's why we should let Bush clean it up himself. ;)

I do agree, things aren't picture perfect, but changing commander in the middle of a war isn't always ideal, particularly in this case where both candidates are on opposite ends of the spectrum and share near no point of views on issues.

If Kerry does make it in I would love to see him successfully impeached...now that would be nice.

So the excuses start already? I bet you don't feel that Bush was left cleaning up Clintons mess...

isn't that the reason why FDR was elected 4 times?

I felt Clinton's major mess was on the blue dress which is impossible to clean.

well it depends ;) if kerry leaves the mess to continue as is, then all the kerryites will say its bush's fault. If kerry makes substancial progress and 4 years from now iraq is a much more secure nation and america's image much better among the world we'll say it was the right thing to do ;)

If kery makes a mess the busheviks will say "see, bush was handling the situation and kerry can't do anything but fumble!" and if kerry does well they'll say "it was going to happen under bush anyways!!!"

Either way, both parties have excuses ready ;)

Bush has been rolling in merde for 4 years. He'd only spend 4 more years rolling in it and continuing to make this country smell like a camel herder's bordello.

We need someone to clean up this mess. If Kerry is sacrificed as a one term president, well, so be it. Personally, I think he will take a lot of political arrows, unfairly, in the next 4 years.

Why?

because Kerry has spent the last 6 months or more campaigning and less about gaining knowledge on where are troops are, how they are setup. He does not have the information that Bush has, and for the first few months that he is in, he will spend more time learning about what the situation is, and less about continuing to move forward with the war so that we can get our troops out.

Bush did a great job cleaning up that nasty budget surplus mess that Clinton left us.

Kerry will be fine. Clinton had 8 years of Regan and 4 years of George I mess to clean up after and he did okay.

Kerry chose to run, so don't feel sorry for him. Even if you have 150m repubs going after you with sharp pitchforks and poor arguments, its still a nice job ;)

Why the hell would any American want that? As a patriot, I think that's a despicable sentiment. Impeachment is a Bad Thing for the country, and I'm just amazed anyone would express a desire to see a man impeached before he even takes office.

I've already voted for Kerry, and I'm confident he will win tomorrow. If he disappoints me over the next 4 years, I'm all for ditching him, hopefully in favor of a Republican I can support with a clear conscience. I would never want to see an American president impeached, until and unless it was clearly justified. Your statement makes me sick.

Yep. He had to use it as a patch to slap it on that nasty economy and employment in a free-fall legacy Clinton gifted us all.

It's not fair for Kerry to inherit Bush's quagmire but Bush needs to be held accountable for the way his administration misled the nation to war.

Politicians want to be re-elected, and we need to show them that if you do something stupid like mislead us into war, you're not going to get re-elected.

The way Nixon got the blame for Kennedy and LBJ's mess?

Well look who's already making excuses. I sure hope you felt the same for Bush after he inhereted Clinton's economical trainwreck and his impotent handling of terror.

Kerry has said he can do this, that, and the other. If he can't do it, he shouldn't have said it. If he wins and fails at those promises, it's no one's fault but his. No one made those promises for him.

Kerry should have been far more cautious on the campaign trail. He was way too eager to capitalize on Bush's failures and has really set himself up for a fall if he wins.

I he takes the white house, I want to see him succeed. I just want to see this country on the right track; I could give a crap who gets us there. But, don't be making up excuses for the man already. You say he's credible and trusthworthy... well, let's see him live up to his own hype.

Kennedy and Johnson didn't try to cover up Watergate.
