My XP 3870 CF machine gets 60 to 90 outdoors in Oblivion and 40 to 70 in Witcher at 1280 by 1024. My 4870X2 Vista 64 machine gets 80 to 100 outside in Oblivion and 45 to 100 in Witcher at 1920 by 1200. I would check to make sure your PSU can handle an X2 or crossfired 4870's, it's probably is on the edge of disaster. The Phenom might hold you back some also.

no .. sell them

i had 2900XT CF which is very close in performance wise to 3870CF. A single 4870 is about 10% faster.

So, yeah, you will see a solid performance increase with X2 or 4870 CF over 3870x2 or CF
- heck, i got 4870 x3 CF
