This is awesome. Only thing that I would prefer over this is 120hz + IPS tech, or any tech that eliminates the vertical color shift associated with TN.

And just what video card do they intend to use it with? That would require running DVI out of spec*, which GPUs tend to dislike.

* HDMI and VGA would be useless here; and where's the DP?!

How the hell is someone supposed to get 144fps out of their rig? lol? Its impossible to maintain 120 in latest games. Playing in 3D doesn't matter either. You need 144fps worth of hardware performance regardless.

Generally the CPU is the bottleneck when running at that high of a framerate. My 4890 is definately outpacing my 920 @ 4.2 on pretty much everything except for Battlefield 3. The game doesn't even have 1:1 mouse movement so I can't really classify it as a competitive shooter.

There are some of us who still prefer our LOD incredibly high. The closer I can get to this the better.

Using standard 120Hz timings but removing all non-essential vertical and horizontal blanking yields us 134.2Hz without any changes to the pixel clock.

My XL2420T has no problem removing all but 5 lines of vertical blanking and running at a 299Mhz pixel clock, 144Hz doesn't seem like that far of a stretch if the controller is built for it.

*edit*

Upon, further inspection. Yes, 144Hz is in spec for dual link DVI. No magic mumble jumbo blanking to worry about.

How do you go about changing the pixel clock?
Powerstrip for ATI and control panel for Nvidia. Although if you are going to fumble around, I would still use PS for its real time adjustment with Nvidia cards. Learn how to reset back to defaults before messing around though. If all else fails and you are booting with PS running, safe mode.
