No A/C in my room, I can't open the windows because bugs crawl in, and it's floats around 95*F all day. Even at night, it doesn't get much lower than 90*F.

Anyone have any ideas to feel cooler? Outside of sitting in a tub of ice? Hehe.

And no, I'm NOT gonna buy a window A/C unit.

I have a screen. But when I did a wee bit cleaning this morning, there were cobwebs on the bottom to corners of my window. This is absolutely horrible. I'm gonna pass out from dehydration! ARGH!

its the sky high humidity that kills. the air is laced with fossil fuel
emmissions; the heat cannot escape and we choke. to think the major car
manufacturers can't make the needed investments to decrease these
emmissions is so maddening.

Get a can of RAID and spray the corners of the window where the screen doesn't cover. That will keep the bugs off for 2 weeks.

here are your options:

a: suck it up and buy a window AC unit. if it gets that hot there, you need one.

b: open the window. a cobweb will not hurt you. the bugs will find a way in with the window closed anyways, so just don't worry about it. if there really is a problem with bugs, then you could seal up the screen on your window a little better.

c: sit in a tub of icewater

d: get out of your house and do something where there is AC.

e: go sleep in a hotel, even though it would be cheaper to buy a window AC unit.

Screens will work. The spiders are just hanging out there to see if any insects get through, just think of them as bouncers.

why not?

Because I don't have $200 to blow.

well, your gonna have to find $200 to blow then, because there is not really any other solution. i wouldn't think that opening the window would not help in the first place....

oh, and you could probably get a window unit for around $120-$150. Its not going to get the place really cold, but it would be good enough to sit in front of....

<< that sucks, I'm kinda freezing at my work here ~shivers~ >>

I would rather have it freezing than being "ovenized". You can always wear more clothes if it's cold, but you can't take off your shirt if it's hot in the office...
