First of all i would like to wish everyone a happy new year!

ok, now here is my question.

In my PC i have a 200gb HD that i only use for storage to rip my audio cds to. I set this drive up as Readonly under Win2ks permisions so that nothing accidently gets deleted.
Now my problem is that every so offen there is temperary files, and file folders that get created on this drive.
I cant recall the exact names of these files but they all ways start with the letter "m." And im pretty sure that they get created after using Windows Update.
Im guessing that the reason is that this is the largest drive in my PC and by default the temp files are created there.
So im wondering if there is anyway to specify in windows2k where windows update puts these temperary files.

thanks

Not sure if this is what you are looking for..

Run IE, then click Tools->Internet Options on the menu. Click the Settings button under "Temporary Internet Files"--the full path to the folder containing the files will be listed about halfway down the dialog box which pops up. You can there click on the move folder button and choose location.

Cheers

It's not, he wants to move the location where Windows Updates stores it's files before they are installed.
