It is possible that Democrats will gain, not lose in November. Here's why/how.

I'm sharing this article I'm right now reading in the New York Times online. This link should work for 14 days (i.e until May 30, 2022):

By John Della Volpe

Mr. Della Volpe is director of polling at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics and has overseen its Youth Poll since 2000. He was a pollster for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign in 2020.

Like I get how the midterms are referendum against the incumbent. But how stupid are independent voters actually contemplating voting R in November? But bad Biden for no baby formula. And he’s responsible for all the mega corporations increasing prices while making record profits.

If you been watching closely you may notice the average voter is a moron. They only remember the last thing they on TV, or Facebook. So if they see a conservative pundit put up a nasty image on their feed right before they go into the voting booth, thats what sways them. That image is almost always full of lies, but no one cares any more.

Reminder that MORE people voted for Donald in 2020 than in 2016, and if anybody had been paying attention and remembered all 4 years, he would have gotten maybe 1 percent of the vote. Even hardcore conservatives were angry with him at least a few times during his term.
Republicans have stepped up their propaganda game. They could easily win seats this year. And if they do expect attacks on abortion and a bunch of other things.

Less than one in 10 Americans between 18 and 29 years old describe ours as a “healthy democracy.” Most are convinced that both political parties cater to elites over people like them and that our politics cannot meet the challenges of the times. More than anything, “happiness and stability” are what youth seek, but even that appears out of reach at a time when they’re readying to launch.
Gosh, imagine that. Hard for our politics to meet the challenges of the times when one of the parties is basically WWE without the wrestling, just a bunch of grandstanding heels, there more for entertainment purposes and a paycheck than actual governance.

I've seen some chatter about student loan forgiveness, if they play that right I could see the dems cleaning up in the midterms. There is a metric shit ton of kids that don't want to pay their bills.

Democrats will win... don't worry. Sky is not falling yet. People are actually moving to PA and Wisconsin, contrary to what Fox News says. Thus we will definitely win more seats in the senate.

If China fails to contain Covid and it continues to be as strict in their containment practices, the Global Economy will continue to be turbulent for that reason alone. Then there are the Russia centered issues. It could take years for things to normalize. We in NA will fare relatively well. Elsewhere the turbulence is going to have more serious consequences, especially in Africa.

The perfect storm for Trump/Clones.

Lets just hope that the Trump endorsed republican candidates all win their primaries because then... democrats can easily win the race when up against a Trump endorsed republican. The liberal slanted media seems to enjoy watching a Trump endorsed candidate lose, but that short term loss for Trump could end up as an overall win for republicans in November.

We want our democrat candidates to win in november, but if the Trump endorsed lose their primary resulting in a more main stream republican to emerge, then the democtat could lose in november. So lets just hope that the Trump loonies win their primaries thus giving voters a clear sound choice, the democrat candidate, come November.

You guys are forgetting one thing:
Covid

Vaccines optional - all states
Masking optional - all states
1/2 republican party base*** - anti-vax and anti-mask
US Covid fatality rate - 1.2%*.
New Covid variant** - every 3 months
100% guaranteed covid cure! - Ivermectin

So, what percentage of the republican base does Covid kill before the election? Each variant takes another shot at all the unvaccinated unmasked. At least one new variant prior to November.

Will there be enough republicans left alive to win elections in contested districts?

Think about what effect vaccinated people have on a virus like covid. Vaccinated people still carry the virus, and in order for the virus to survive it has to adapt to fast responding immune systems. Faster acting, more potent, and aggressive. A liability in an unvaccinated population, where a virus needs the carrier to survive long enough to spread it. But in a vaccinated person, extra potency is necessary for survival. What happens when this extra potent virus infects an unvaccinated person?

Weak vaccines like China's sinovac or Russia's sputnik increase the odds of this type of mutation occuring. There is a reason China is implementing zero tolerance lockdowns in their "vaccinated" population. In Russia war, sanctions, and ignorance create the perfect petri-dish.

It is not over yet, not even a little over.

Yes, it has to adapt.

No, its not (usually) faster, more potent or aggressive. Its just different.

Indeed, normally selection pressures will tend toward the less severe (lower mortality rate) mutations of the virus (as their carriers are still around to spread them).

A lot of state governors and secretaries of state are on the ballot THIS NOVEMBER.

So if the big lie supporters are voted in, they can easily put in a system to put in their preferred results for the electoral college in 2024.

Probably too complicated for most to understand who just have resentment for the current economy and want to vote the dems out.

Looking at the number of voters for each party it seems Democrats are getting more turnout. Though this is under 2 million in a state of 12.8 million.

As PA is a state where the governor selects the secretary of state, that race is immensely important.

Imagine having FL, AZ and PA (at a minimum) electoral college votes all under the control of Trump loyalists. They don't need to rig every state, just 3-4 key ones.

Will the Dems get the message out on this one????

Wisconsin is certainly more important than AZ and while the WI governor is dem, their legislature is a repub gerrymandered teahadi coalition that can simply throw out votes, which is much more concerning.

Yeah, forgot about WI.

This is why these messages of hope and beating the midterm odds are a moot point when voting literally won't matter anymore in many states.

As a lifelong WI resident, I apologize for our "Florida North" status. The GOP here is truly despicable. When they were in power and Evers (the Dem gov) won the election, before they left, they hamstringed his power completely and totally fucked us all. They are the worst kind of people.

And, as is tradition when discussing WI politics, I would be remiss if I didn't mention "FRJ"
