You think people are mistaking your version with Shakespeare's?

No, people are mistaking script #1 as authored by when in fact it's just a lift from Shakespeare's R+J. C-o-m-p-r-e-h-e-n-s-i-o-n.

The gangsterfied version makes me sad.

Why? And it's gangsta-fied whitey.

Well, I think you guys assumed both scripts were MINE - when in fact the FIRST one was a DIRECT lift from Romeo and Juliet. I do not consider "this is literary atrocity" as mature criticism when the person making the comment has no idea what he/she is actually reading.

That, my friend, was possibly the worst piece of literature ever written.
Specific?

I say that in the nicest way I know how. Really, it was terrible.

Cheers!

Jesus I guess you guys never read Shakespeare. I never imagined having to emphasize key points because the "literature enlightened" cannot register simple information when repeated 3 times.

Cliff notes:

First script is SHAKESPEARE

Second script is MY GANGSTER VERSION

Limitations for second script include: NO obscenities, NO innuendos, and must retain the essence of Shakespeare by using some exact/similar words from original.

Meh.

Lmao, dude. People know that the first section is by Shakespeare. They're not calling his work literary crap. Please, just accept the fact that all these comments are about your work. It was a class assignment, that's fine. You did the best with what you could. People just didn't like it. It's not your fault, it's your teacher's fault. Don't take it THAT personally.

Says you.

No really?

Well I like it, my teacher likes it, who's opinion I value more than yours (in fact, I value any opinion that exceeds single sentence responses like "it sux", and virtually everyone I've spoken to likes it) and everyone I've spoken to at school likes it.

Let's see....Anandtech masses < English teacher, partner, fellow students, and family. That's seems about right.

I wanted an honest criticism of my work, whether it's deemed good or bad is irrelevant in my book; all I care about is a reasonable examination...not one liners. That's why I'm taking this personally.

It's quite easy to spot Shakespeare even if people don't understand the lines fully. No reason to doubt.

Besides, gansta-speak when done properly SHOULD be a literary atrocity.

Hehe.

I doubt O.R meant it in that way. :D

As I've said, I couldn't use any swear words or anything remotely offensive...so technically it isn't "real" gangsta-speak.

W0rd.

Your high school English teacher, high school partner who is also invested in the work, and a bunch of people who share genetic information with someone who conjured up such an abortion all approve?

Now that's a glowing endorsement.

However, that ability to deny the obvious and believe that ATOT honestly mistook the first section for anything but Shakespeare will serve you well when it comes to swallowing even bigger lies. I see a bright career ahead of you in conspiracy theories, Nigerian scam letters, and perpetual motion machines.

Truly sir, you ARE Noobtastic.

/edit: I didn't really want to flame you that badly, but trying to act as if you know the meaning of someone's post better than the person who actually posted it is pretty asinine.

LOL - you have to realize, this is probably the guy, a couple of years back or so, who wanted to know if some version of a Half-Life bundle he bought would come with CounterStrike. Rather than research it, he asked in the SW forum and got a hearty, "Yeah, I think so," which prompted him to purchase it.

So when it came and didn't have what he wanted, he started about half-a-dozen threads, calling all of AT a bunch of jerk-offs and retards, who had no clue about anything tech-related. :D

Text

He hasn't exactly matured much since then, it would appear.

Yea, keep dreaming. No one is mistaking Old English with Broken English.
