I know you want it to do a certain speed, and do it now, but take it slow and in steps. It can be a PITA when you want to just crank it and have it run, but it's well worth it. Drop down to a slower speed, perhaps 2.3Ghz @ 1.65v, and see how that goes. It's even possible the problem isn't the CPU @ all, but something else...perhaps memory.

Timings?

Beats me to it.

what fsb are you running at now ?
have you messed with the vdd yet ?
i've modded that board before with good results if you wanna try that
but i warn you, you will need better cooling on the nb and sb if you start raising this higher (the nb heatsink on that thing is pretty good but i would put a 40mm fan on it if you can, also atleast a passive heatsink on the sb if you can)

good luck

I'm currently back at 2500 Mhz... 200x12.5
RAM timings aren't the problem cause I've been running the RAM at the same settings for over 6 months and never had a problem with it.
I'm running SETI@Home right now (have been for about 30 minutes) and temps are bouncing between 50 and 51 C.
Haven't changed any other settings... VDD is at the default, RAM voltage is at 2.8 (any lower and it's what causes errors in Prime 95)
I think it may be my power supply that's not quite cutting it anymore now with this CPU since it's undoubtedly pulling more current at 2.4 and 2.5 than my previous CPU at 2.2 or 2.3 Ghz. With the voltage set to 1.700 in the BIOS, it's fluctuating between 1.71 and 1.73 right now, but when I run Prime 95, it occasionally dips down to 1.68... I guess it's possible it might be dipping down around 1.65 and causing it to lock up. It's an Antec SL350... maybe I'll disconnect my extra hard drive and CDRW drive and see if it effects stability at all.

Shweet:) I got mine too but no time to build....(I'm watercooled so it takes a long time to swap stuff.. big PITA)
...will add later..prolly by monday. Anyway whoever came up with this MB idea is a genious.

Ok, I'm back at 2400 Mhz now... lol... Battlefield 1942 didn't like 2.5 ghz. Runs fine now... over the next few days I'll continue to do some longer term stability checks and possibly rerun all the benchmarks I already did to show the results that my CPU is capable of on an everyday basis.

I think everyone got a Mobile Barton except for me. I'm not too worried, I want to save for a case and an extra Raptor.

I resisted hard too and am still resisting. :D

Come on, everybody's doing it. :D

It's a new fad!

mine is stable at 2.34Ghz but at 1.7v. My stupid gigabyte 400 pro2, nothing like that only let me increase the juice by 10%

True.

Better yet, get the Northwood P4 I have. 3.06 from the factory, 3.72 in my rig. Not too shabby...

I just started testing. My 2600-M is 4 hours prime stable at 209x12=2508 @ 1.7v. Idle temp is 32C and load is 39C with my slk800.

Yeah... I'll run it eventually... but it takes around 2 hours, and that's 2 hours that the computer can't be used by anyone and my laptop is currently out of comission because of this damn Xircom 802.11b card :|

I have this same problem when running at 1.80V I really set it to 1.85 on bios. Then setting in the bios 2V it reads 1.93???2700Mhz I don't know if it's safe to go any higher vcore? Maybe I need new PSU? Running a 400 watts antec. Anyway unstable with prime after only ~6minutes.:( Perhaps this is due to PS fluctation? My temps stay below 35C too.

You're using water cooling?

Yes jeff. Running water to both cpu and gpu.. I think we need new PS to really push these chips. Just the cpu is sucking 125W according to sandra. Add in all the other stuff who knows?

Yeah, possibly... it'll have to wait though... can't afford a new PSU yet since I just bought this mobile XP2500 and some RAM :D I'm satisfied with 2.4 Ghz though. Hey, what model number is your PSU?

Whatever one came with antec 1040sx case. I think it's just like insanes a single fan model made about 2 years ago. I missed it evidently but what voltage you settle on? I'm prime stable 2486 Mhz @1.75Vcore. Also I should mention, This PC3200 buffalo $44 memory is very good but very strange. Runs great at PC3500 2-3-3-11 @ 2.7 Volts but won't make it though prime any higher voltage. Tried 2.8 and 2.9 and failed within 18 minutes both times.

I got pissed at it locking up and have it set at 1.725 in the BIOS right now, which is 1.750 actual when idle... but when running Prime 95 it bounces between 1.71 and 1.76.

That's about in line with my results with a 2500+ mobile. I'm running at 12.5x200=2500mhz at 1.775v 100% stable.
