The new battery for the Hayabusa has arrived!
BWHAHA!!!
Time to install:
Remove seats- 2 minutes.
Remove screws to old battery- 1 minute.
Pull old battery- 30 seconds.
Put new battery in place- 10 seconds.
Replace terminal screws- WTF?
Well the old battery was threaded to take the bolts. Not this one. It had a rectangular nut that had to be held in place to secure the connection. Of course it had to fit in a place too small to grasp. Pliers? Na, too big.
So- time looking for a tool to hold the nut. 15 minutes.
Tried sticking a knife under it to raise it enough to engage the threads. Nope. Nut slid old of place.
Time to stare at the battery and swear 10 minutes.
Solution: Precisely cut a wooden shim with my bandsaw in order to do the trick. Time, about 30 seconds.
Ok, everything is go.
Time go get the cables attached for real- 8 minutes for both.
Getting it all back together, about 5 more.
So, one minute to get the thing out and almost 3/4 of an hour.
This thing better last a loooooonnnnnnggggg time.
