nintendo price drop was on sep 25. the data includes from aug 31 up to oct 4. so nintendo had the price drop for 10 days. and remember nintendo said they sold ~60k units in first week of price drop. so point is, nintendo had to jump to reach bottom...

without the price drop nintendo would have probably sold ~110k. some may call the price drop strategic, others would call it necessary...

and notice how well xbox is starting to compete with ps2 in games sold. that's impressive considering the install base discrepancy, and that this is msft's first console.
