I tried it...

I had DX9 for 4 months without 1 lockup, ran solid, no slowdowns...when I installed DX9a. I have had 4 lockups already, and installed nothing else since, so it is the culprit

I'd give it a try if I could find a network install of it. There's no way I'm having my computer download 164 megs every time I reload windows. Just what takes up 164 megs?

I tried it. Didn't like it one bit (game froze/crashed and went crazy). Reloaded the drive image. Back to 9.0. YMMV.
