Issues with X800GTO

I recently installed a Sapphire X800GTO into my computer (see spec's in signature) replacing a 9800pro and have been having a lot of difficulty while playing WoW with BSOD's (mainly IRQL one) or WoW crashing with various errors.

Prior to installing the X800GTO, I had uninstalled all video drivers (was using a 6 month old version of Omega ATI drivers) and used Driver Cleaner Pro in Safe Mode. I then swapped in the X800GTO and booted up, installing the newest version of Omega Drivers. When I got numerous BSOD's, I uninstalled those drivers and tried the newest version of Catalyst drivers with no improvement. I have since tried several other older versions of drivers, each time taking care to uninstall previous driver and using driver cleaner to remove all traces, with little to no improvement.

My next plan of attack is to update the motherboard's bios and see if that helps.
Another possible reason may be the Thermaltake 480watt PSU I'm using is not enough for the card and it may be time to invest in a new PSU.
The last thing I could try would be to reinstall WinXPpro.

Anyone have any ideas? All help would be appreciated.

How many amps on the 12v rail in that PSU? If it's less than 20A, then it's probably the PSU.

I'm currently using this PSU:

Powering the components in my signature in addition a second optical drive and the X800GTO and 4 80mm case fans. Looks like ~18 amps on the 12V rail.

The other trick I remember doing for this motherboard may be to drop the AGP to 4x like I did for my 9800pro.

your power supply is fine. there is no way are are pulling 20 amps unless you have a lot of other stuff in your system, i have an x800 and a 420watt with about 16a on the 12v rail.no problems what so ever with a hd, 2 optical and 5 fans.
